China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. (China Mobile) has been devoted to promoting application of various kinds of internet-based devices, aiming to contribute to digital and smart industrial transformation.
5G+AI UAV
Putting out mountain fires is a race against time.
China Mobile developed a 5G-based artificial intelligence (AI) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which is capable of accurately positioning the original ignition site of a fire through an infrared thermal imaging system while immediately send real-time video, aerial photos and data to the control center.
It can also predict the fire according to the wind direction and the fire's current location, effectively supporting fire fighters.

Unmanned bus
Unmanned buses were a special part at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, East China’s Zhejiang Province.
They are installed with sensing devices for unmanned driving like laser radar, millimeter wave radar and visual cameras.
Taking advantage of advanced technologies like a 5G special network, edge cloud computing, vehicle-road coordination and remote driving, the buses realize precise sensing of the surrounding environment as well as meet ultra-low-time-delay and ultra-strong computing requirements.

5G-based patrol robot
By scanning a group of piglets, the 5G-based patrol robot can send the temperature of the piglets and the pigpen to the system and show the real-time data on a screen.
Sending robots to patrol in the pigpen can reduce the risk of germs being carried in by the inspectors.
What's more, the real-time data can help operators detect abnormal conditions in the pigpen and respond quickly.

5G-based food delivery robot
The 5G-based food delivery robot developed by China Mobile helps reduce food delivery labor and effectively improves food delivery efficiency in nursing homes.
The robot is equipped with an obstacle avoidance system and an elevator control system, which added to its low time delay and multi-terminal monitoring characteristics, ensure that the robot is safe and reliable in delivering food.

5G-based quality control robot
China Mobile contributed to China’s first 5G-based smart manufacturing project in the chemical fiber industry.
Based on the edge computing-based special 5G internet, the filament quality control robot can realize 24/7 inspection by sending the 8K high-definition production images to the background system to realize accurate examination.

WeChat robot
Xiaoou, a robot based on WeChat, can help people quickly and accurately search information. As it provides 24/7 service, it is like a second brain for mobile operation and maintenance workers.
In addition to information searching, it can help position the errors, monitor and give warnings, and handle work distribution.
At present, it is widely used in scenarios like wireless devices, home and crowded sites, as well as fault handling and assistance in daily office tasks.
So far, it has provided more than 10 million services and greatly improved internet operation and maintenance efficiency.
