Gou Ping, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), attended and addressed the Second China (Macao) High-quality Consumption Exhibition and Hengqin Global Bay Areas Forum in Zhuhai City of Guangdong Province on Dec 13. Gou said that President Xi Jinping has charted a blueprint for the development of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Zhuhai and that central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) will accordingly further expand their industrial presence to support Hengqin's development of new industries for promoting the moderately diversified economic development of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).
On Dec 14, Gou also attended the 16th Meeting of the Asia Network on Corporate Governance of State-owned Enterprises in Macao. In his address at the meeting, he said that SASAC is ready to work with Asian counterparts to pursue high-quality development of SOEs with firm confidence and determination, explore paths for deepening the reform of SOEs and optimizing models for the supervision and administration of state-owned assets, so as to promote their high-quality development.
The meeting was jointly held by SASAC, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the Office for the Planning of the Supervision of the Public Assets of the Macao SAR(GPSAP). Representatives from about 20 countries and regions, and international organizations including the OECD and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) attended the meeting.
During his stay in Macao, Gou visited Ho Iat Seng, Chief Executive of the Macao SAR, and Lyu Yuyin, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR. They held in-depth exchanges on supporting Macao's high-quality economic and social development, the improvement of public livelihoods, and the construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
