Gou Ping, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), attended and addressed the Parallel Session On Empowering Businesses with Open Innovation of the 6th Hongqiao International Economic Forum on November 6 in Shanghai.
The Parallel Session was jointly held by SASAC and Ministry of Commerce. Guo Tingting, Vice Minister of Commerce, and Richard Kozul-Wright, Director of the Globalisation and Development Strategies Division in the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, delivered speeches at the event.

In his speech, Gou said that openness is an inevitable path to global prosperity and development, and innovation is an important driving force for leading global development. SASAC will continue to guide and promote central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to work with all parties to deepen international innovation cooperation with a more open and inclusive attitude, in a bid to relieve development difficulties, gather innovation momentum, and seek shared benefits, thus making new contributions to advancing global economic and social development, he added.
Government officials, heads of international organizations, scholars, and senior executives from prominent domestic and foreign enterprises conducted in-depth discussions from the perspectives of policy systems, innovation ecosystem, corporate governance, etc. Over 200 domestic and foreign guests attended the Parallel Session.
During his visit to Shanghai, Gou also attended the opening ceremony of the 6th China International Import Expo, China-Mongolia Cooperation Conference of Integrated Mining Industrial Chain, and a signing ceremony of China Eastern Airlines. He also visited some exhibition booths of foreign companies, some of which are invited by Chinese central SOEs.
