Zhao welcomed the visit of Sawan and his delegation. He pointed out that Chinese central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the energy sector have achieved fruitful results in their long-term cooperation with Shell. There are tremendous development opportunities in the Chinese market pertaining to the energy transformation, which provides bright prospects for cooperation between Chinese and foreign companies, he added.
Zhao emphasized that the SASAC will fully support Chinese central SOEs to further expand their cooperation with Shell and other leading multinationals in new fields, and make contributions to the building of a new paradigm of open and win-win international energy cooperation and to leading the international energy transformation.
Sawan congratulated China on its remarkable achievements over the past few years. He said that Shell highly values its development in China and is committed to further enhancing its cooperative partnership with Chinese enterprises, strengthening collaboration and seeking win-win development with Chinese central SOEs in a wide range of fields.
He also shared his vision on future development trends of energy transformation and corporate governance during the meeting.
