The structural design of the main body of the world's first floating wind power-fishery integrated platform has been approved by the China Classification Society (CCS).
Designed by China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy), the platform is a demonstration project of floating offshore wind power key technology development.
Adopting the innovative idea of "power generation over the water surface and breeding in the water", the platform is planned for the national marine ranch demonstration area on Nanri Island in East China's Fujian Province. It is expected to be the world's first demonstration project to integrate floating wind power with offshore fishery technology.
The CCS is currently the only professional body focusing on ship registration and inspection. It is an authority for inspection, certification and design approval of offshore wind power and fishery and aquaculture facilities.
Approval of the project will speed up its development and set a model for China's integration of offshore floating wind power development and fishery aquaculture.
