Updated: October 25, 2022

Invested and built by China Three Gorges Corporation, the platform is 126 meters long and 50 meters wide. It has a molded depth of 10 meters and integrates functions like transport, self-elevation, self-propulsion, hoisting, installation and dynamic positioning.

It's worth noting that the platform has the best hoisting capacity and can operate deepest under the sea of its kind in the world. Meanwhile it has a variable load of 6,500 metric tons and a 4,200-square meter deck, both the largest in the world.

What's more, all of the core systems like the elevating and the hoisting systems were developed domestically.

The Baihetan offshore wind power installation platform will mainly operate in waters off Guangdong and East China's Fujian Province. It is expected to improve China's engineering and installation capacity of large-scale offshore wind turbines and provide strong support for future development of such projects.
