China launched a Long March-6 carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in North China's Shanxi Province on Sept 27, sending three satellites into selected orbit.

Developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, a subsidiary of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the Long March-6 is a three stage carrier rocket that completed its maiden flight on Sept 20, 2015. So far, the rocket has successfully completed 10 launch missions, with nine of them carrying multiple satellites.
The satellite trio – the Shiyan-16A and Shiyan-16B satellites developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, and the Shiyan-17 satellite developed by the China Academy of Space Technology – will play a vital role in providing data for land surveys, urban planning, and disaster prevention and mitigation, etc.
The launch on Sept 27 was the 440th flight mission of the Long March series rockets.
