China Southern Airlines, the largest air carrier of the country by fleet size, signed an agreement with the International Air Transport Association to test the IATA Travel Pass application on July 14.

It became the first airliner in the Chinese mainland to participate in the IATA Travel Pass test.

The move is set to promote the integration of China's international travel health certificate with international standards, according to China Southern.

IATA Travel Pass is a mobile app to help travelers manage their travel in line with government requirements for COVID-19 testing or vaccine information. It significantly reduces the waiting time for international passengers at airports.

It is designed with a high level of data privacy protection and security technology meeting global standards.

It was launched in November 2020, with more than 70 airlines around the world testing or promising to test it.
