The Shenzhen Pumped-storage Power Station of China Southern Power Grid (CSG) in South China's Guangdong Province, recently won the National Quality Engineering Award, making it the first pumped-storage power station of the company to win the honor.
The first CSG's pumped-storage power station built in a metropolis, the station has been in safe operation for a continuous 4,117 days with no industrial accidents or human injuries as calculated on Dec 1, 2020.
The station, completely designed, built, installed and adjusted by CGS, has domestically-made generator units.
Many advanced technologies and structures were used during construction, which contributed to upgrading of China's generator unit manufacturing.
According to CSG, nearly 100 technological achievements were developed in the station's construction and have been adopted in several similar projects.
The station was built and operated based on environmental protection principles.
For example, the station functions as a power generator, a water supplier and a scenic spot. The reservoir on the upstream opened to the public for leisure when completed and receives nearly 70,000 visitors annually.
In the future, CSG will continue to beef up innovation-driven, green, open and sharable development with high quality.
