Chinese Central SOEs Construct International Circulation Hubs

Chinese central state-owned enterprises have participated in airport and port construction along the Belt and Road, making travelling between countries easier and laying a solid foundation for international trades and culture exchanges.

Luanda Angola International Airport

Aviation Industry Corportation of China, Ltd (AVIC) has signed an agreement to build Luanda Angola International Airport which will be a hub for air transport in southwest Africa and a bridge connecting Africa with Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Cidade de Xai-Xai Airport

AVIC has aided Mozambique with its construction of Cidade de Xai-Xai Airport. The airport's passenger throughput is predicted to reach an eventual 220,000. It will benefit the local people and will complete the regional aviation infrastructure network.

Colombo International Container Port

The Colombo International Container Port in Sri Lanka is an overseas home port of China Merchants Group (CMG) and a strategic point on routes from the Far East to Europe as well as the Maritime Silk Road.

CMG started to invest in the port in 2009. The frontage of the port is 1,200 meters and the designed annual throughput of containers is 2.4 million.

Its annual profits now exceed $50 million.
