On Sept 12, the opening ceremony of the 15th China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit were held in Nanning, capital city of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered keynote speech.
Other speakers included Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Myanmar's Vice President U Myint Swe, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Laotian Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Somdee Duangdee, and specially-invited partner Seif Ali Iddi, Second Vice President of Zanzibar of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The opening ceremony was co-chaired by Chen Wu, Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Cambodia's Minister of Commerce Pan Sorasak.
Yan Xiaofeng, Member of the SASAC Party Committee and Secretary General of SASAC, attended the event and inspected the Global Research and Development Center, National Earthmoving Machinery Engineering Research Center, and the excavator production line of Guangxi Liugong Group Co.
After 14 years' development, the China-ASEAN Expo offers officials, entrepreneurs, experts and scholars as well as celebrities from all walks of life an opportunity to exchange ideas and promote cooperation in the host city of Nanning, which facilitates the implementation of major projects in various fields. It has grown into a comprehensive international exchange and exhibition platform.
