On March 17, 2017, SASAC Vice Chairman Huang Danhua met with Mr. Amin Nasser, President & CEO of Saudi Aramco. The two sides exchanged views on enhancing mutuallly beneficial cooperation.
Huang Danhua briefed on SASAC and international operation of Chinese central SOEs. She pointed out that Saudi Arabia is an important partner of China and the two countries have extensive cooperation in areas such as petroleum & petrochemical, construction, and power generation & power grid. SASAC will actively support central SOEs in their efforts to implement the concensuses reached by President Xi Jinping and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, tap the potential for cooperation with Saudi enterprises such as Aramco, work together in a pragmatic and win-win manner under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, and contribute to continuous progress in China-Saudi Arabia comprehensive strategic partnership.
Amin Nasser said that China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which brings great opportunities for Saudi Arabia and its enterprises, can go well with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Aramco hopes to strengthen cooperation with Chinese central SOEs in crude oil trade, refinery capacity and oil storage. He hopes that SASAC can support them in these efforts.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues such as upstream cooperation in the oil industry and jointly "going global".
